This one day training is designed to equip those attending with a deeper understanding of the need to support the clients in addiction services prior to, during and post detoxification in managing the sometimes overwhelming feelings and emotions that can be experienced and which can mean the difference between successfully maintaining recovery and relapse.
The training has been designed specifically to equip and support workers in drug support services with a foundational knowledge and a basic but powerful set of skills to help our clients cope with, or resolve difficult feelings at times of stress and high risk situations. These skills can support the client in developing and maintaining their well being and ability to cope under the pressure of daily life. Life on life’s terms!
The sessions are very interactive and experiential. Those attending will have the opportunity to practice the skills they are learning and develop their knowledge about the nature and impact of stress on the body, mind, emotions and behaviour.
There is also an option for ongoing supervision/mentoring. This will be facilitated monthly, on-line, and will incur a small cost. This will only be available to those attending the course. Details provided on request.
